COLOMBO

Sri Lanka’s capital city and primary sea port, Colombo is vibrant and alive. An eclectic urban mix of skyscrapers, colonial structures of Portuguese, Dutch and British origin, historical sites and places of worship, Colombo has something for everyone. Of note, the bazaars of Cinnamon Garden and Pettah in the Portuguese area, the 18th century Wolvendaal Church, legacy of the Dutch colonists, the Murugan Temple in the Slave Island area (named after slave camps that flourished in the area during Dutch and Poruguese occupation) and the Devatgahaha Mosque.
